The presentation, conducted within the framework of the AEDBF by Ms. Louise Laïdi (Consultant in Sustainable Finance at Crédit Agricole) and Mr. Julien Martinet, began with introductory remarks on the increase in environmental litigation, the diversification of actions, and alerts from various authorities. Regarding greenwashing, Mr. Julien Martinet presented the general legislative framework in France and Europe and then focused on the prohibition of misleading environmental claims, greenwashing, carbon neutrality claims, and the law on corporate duty of care.
He then briefly mentioned the use of the company’s purpose and environmental activism. Ms. Louise Laïdi then elaborated on the actions and statements made by the AMF or the ACPR, demonstrating their willingness to take control of the greenwashing issue.
